Admissions to the undergraduate B.Tech programs are fully centralized and orchestrated through the state online counseling processes managed by Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), which directly allocates vacant seats prioritizing candidates on the basis of their All India Rank (AIR) in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) alongside qualifying 10+2 marks. Postgraduate selections for the M.Tech programs are allocated systematically according to a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scorecard, with leftover unallocated seats being assigned through undergraduate qualifying merit lists if non-GATE applicants are considered. For the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and localized professional tracks, candidates are selected either through state-level collective metrics or specific merit parameters designated by the counseling authorities. The conclusive finalization of a candidate's seat across all disciplines is contingent upon successful physical document verification routines and institutional fees settlement directly at the Pauri Garhwal campus portal.
For undergraduate admission to the regular 4-year B.Tech programs, candidates must have cleared their 10+2 (Intermediate) examination or an equivalent academic framework from a recognized school board, choosing Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects alongside one elective technical subject (Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or Biology) while achieving a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% for candidates belonging to the statutory SC/ST/OBC reserved categories). For B.Tech Lateral Entry, applicants are required to possess a recognized State Board Engineering Diploma or a B.Sc. degree with a minimum score threshold. Postgraduate qualifications for the M.Tech curriculum require a valid Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) in a relevant discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved classes), whereas the MCA program mandates a completed Bachelor's degree (such as BCA, B.Sc. IT/CS) or a general graduation program complete with Mathematics studied either at the 10+2 standard or at the degree graduation level.
