Admissions to the B.Tech programs are entirely entrance-based and executed through centralized state online counseling conducted by the Uttarakhand Technical University (UTU), which primarily prioritizes allocations based on the candidate's All India Rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) alongside 10+2 percentages. For postgraduate programs, M.Tech admissions are allocated based on a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) scorecard, though vacant seats may be filled using undergraduate merit percentages if sufficient GATE-qualified applicants are unavailable. Meanwhile, admission to the MCA program is handled through a separate, dedicated university entrance examination conducted directly by the parent institution, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT). Once seats are formally allotted across these programs, final selection is completed upon physical document verification and fee payment at the campus.
For undergraduate admission to the regular four-year B.Tech programs, applicants must have passed their 10+2 (Intermediate) examination or its equivalent from a recognized board with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects alongside Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or Biology, securing a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% for reserved categories). For B.Tech Lateral Entry, candidates must hold a recognized Engineering Diploma or B.Sc. degree. To qualify for the M.Tech programs, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree (B.Tech/B.E.) in a relevant field from a recognized university with a minimum stipulated percentage, while eligibility for the MCA program requires a Bachelor's degree with Mathematics studied at either the 10+2 or graduation level. Additionally, please note that regular undergraduate and postgraduate seats are primarily reserved for bonafide residents and candidates holding a domicile of Uttarakhand, while other-state applicants can gain entrance into selected seats via national quota channels
